Letters from Chris...

Thanks to everyone who has been writing chris.. i know it means a lot to him. even if u haven't gotten a letter back from him, he really loves your letters. we have recieved a couple of letters from chris, and they each have gotten more and more positive. so i have decided to type one of the letters, so that u may all feel a little bit of chris's new life......

Dear Family,
Hello again. The last time I talked to you already feels like a long time. After Doolie Day we got right back and had to run in full blue dress uniform with dress shoes from car drop off back to our rooms. (they were trying to make us sick b/c we all had food before hand at sponsor's family.) Our new Cadre are very tough; "hard core" They've already yelled themselves hoarse. Monday morning we got up early and made the " March to Jack's valley" It must've been 5 miles with us in gear and carrying rifles. When we got to Jack's valley we "built tent city in a day". Seriously we all collected tent gear and hoisted big tents onto cement blocks. "I was helping lead since familiar w/ tent set up.) Then we had to walk a 1/4 mile to a big sand pit and fill out bag after bag with sand and cary 2 at a time back to hold down tent stakes and line bags down our tent alley. they were sooo heavy. meals now are really short. You grab all you can and then get 10-15 minutes to eat as much as you can. The shower last night was like being in a concentration camp. The Cadre wanted to go to bed so they piled us in a small shower building. there must have must have been 50-70 kids in a VERY confined ares. we were squeezing past each other. it was not pleasent. this morning we did the assault course. The toughest coarse here and only our second day. It was not as fun as I had expected it. They had us in our full battle dress with blue mouth gaurds bulging from mouth. we looked like chimps. So they have us line up and face a guy here supposed to address as "Assault course Owen." He then had us face him and introduced and had us spin around. A long line of Cadre w/ stone faces were facing us. He yelled "cadre make corrections" They charged us and yelled at us. The next 3 hrs were very tough. most of it was spent doing knee highs. The 1st hr we got rifles and had to dive to ground when hear "grenade!" Every time a cannon fired, whistle blew, or someone yelled grenade we had to throw ourselves to ground and then bounce back up. I did it real good, got complimented but so good I smashed my finger till it got banged up bad and I had to get it bandaged really quick & then continue. we had to stab , do butt smashes, warrior stances, punching, basically karate training for an hour or so. then we had to go to obstacle course itself. It included continuosly falling to ground, cannons were blowing off thick green smoke. we had to do high knees whenever wern't running. Crawled through tunnels , stabbed dummies, went over logs and rolled. crawled under cargo net, barbed wire, and through a dirty pit filled with cold water. It was very long, and very painful. If you messed up at all you had to redo that obstacle AGAIN. If you were alone, left a partner, partner messes up etc. I had to do one HARD section 5-6 times. Very demoralizing It ended tough but day just began. Our Cadre had us doing stuff ALL DAY. pushups, flutter kicks, standing at attention studying knowledge, and THEN a 1.5 mile run all together in boots and holding rifles! (Assault course was ALL w/ rifles too.) No mercy. I miss you all very much. our new Cadre mean buisness. Thank you for your prayers. I hope all is well.
Love,
Chris
after chris's pictures there is quite a long scroll to get to the other stuff.. sorry bout that, but I promise it shall be fixed! :)

Rex

Ok so like Carmen Galloway rescued this little pittbull puppy!! And he is sooo cute!! she loved and nurtured him back to health with the help of her loyal children.. but unfortunatley they couldn't keep him, so they made sure that they found an AH-MAZINGLY GOOD home for him! even though he is gone now, little Rex will always live on in our hearts
